Corrin

A practitioner and experienced teacher of 30 years.

10617473_10102076396791470_1352723633_nCorrin has been practicing yoga since she was 12-years-old. Initially introduced to the practice through the Sivananda Vedanta Centre in Toronto, she began teaching at the young age of 15 when she spontaneously and auspiciously covered for a teacher who didn’t show up to class. Teaching always came very naturally to her as did the practice of Hatha Yoga.

Corrin is registered member of the Yoga Alliance at 500 ERYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher). She is registered to lead professional yoga teacher trainings, and has taught 200hr Yoga Teacher trainings, as well as prenatal yoga teacher trainings. She spent years focused on pre and postnatal yoga, and is also a certified children’s yoga teacher. She has also taught in groups for depression, at addiction rehab centres, women’s shelters, centres for new immigrants, and in hospitals.

During the same early period Corrin was introduced to yoga through the Sivanada Vedanta Centre, she was studying Macrobiotic Cooking and philosophy, and later deepened her knowledge of wholistic health and wellbeing through the study of Ayurvedic Nutrition, Pancha Karma and physical therapies including Marmatherapy and Abhyanga.

Corrin grew up travelling around the world with her mother, learning how different cultures function on the planet. She was always fascinated by how external elements such as landscape and climate seem to affect the basic physical constitution of people, and how they communicate with each other and their perspectives.

Over the last three decades Corrin has remained devoted to her daily practice of asana, japa and chanting. Her relationship with food is an artistic expression, which always remains rooted in honouring the gifts of the earth in their wholeness.

Her understanding of the elements and individual constitution allows her offering – be it nutritional counselling, hands on bodywork or private yoga therapy – to be suited to each unique client.

Corrin is greatly inspired to honour yoga as a practice for all phases of life, and especially (though not exclusively) as an empowering tool for women.
